Course Description:
Our intuitions, our inner knowings, are guiding forces. They propel our forward actions and trust in ourselves. They are our creative power. In times of tumult, it is easier to lose ourselves. Writing helps us return. In this four-week generative writing workshop, participants will write poetry that more deeply connects them to their roots, lineages, intuition, and creative power. They will learn strategies and practices to listen more deeply to themselves, their own body wisdom, and create writing from that place.
Writers we will read include Audre Lorde, Gloria Anzaldúa, Toni Morrison, Eve L. Ewing, Alexander Chee, and more. We will discuss the political necessity of our creative voices and learn body-based practices for grounding ourselves in times of turmoil. Each week, you will write a new piece. Together, we will return to the joy of writing, outside of industry. All writing levels and experiences are welcome.
This workshop centers BIPOC & LGBTQIA+ writers. Registration is open to all.
Sliding Scale Tuition: $222 to $444
Two Full Scholarships Available / Payment Plans are Available
Note: Sessions are meant to be experienced live, and will not be recorded to preserve privacy and encourage participation.
Finally make time to write. Do it in supportive community.
